Mission for Diversity

Our mission for diversity at The Young Insider is to contribute to the development of a diverse generation of informed, concerned writers that reflects the citizenry of the 21st century. Through a commitment to the freedoms of speech and expression, we seek to create spaces in which many different voices, perspectives, and beliefs are given the resources to be fully expressed, giving way to dialogue across perspectives and cultures. In doing so, we aim to positively affect the world of op-ed writing, empowering and uplifting a generation of voices.

Our Belief Regarding Censorship

Our belief at The Young Insider is that censorship and restrictions on belief are fundamental barriers to a diverse world of op-ed writing. Diversity thrives in truth, openness, and a variety of perspectives and outlooks. Of course, we believe that all issues should be approached with respect and sensitivity in language and form, and reject any stance that involves advocating hate or violence towards others. However, we remain committed to supporting writers of all perspectives through the resources to engage in op-ed journalism. Our goal is to create dialogues, not monologues. That is why The Young Insider will aim to never censor the content of writers who utilize our resources or work with us.
